About Us

Cub Scouting is about fun, learning, service to the community, and building character. Cub Scout Pack 460 is about all of those things, plus a little more. We race Pinewood Derby cars, go camping, collect food for the homeless, learn about being prepared, play all sorts of games, make crafts, and have fun! As a Pack (the group of us), we meet once a month (usually on weekends) at Holy Redeemer School Auditorium, at the corner of Summit Avenue and Saul Road in Kensington. Our Dens, which are age-specific smaller groups, meet anywhere from once-a-week to once-a-month on different nights. Our annual dues cover Den fees, supplies, awards and recognition, and a yearly subscription to Boy's Life magazine. We are a year-round family program designed for boys who are in the first grade through fifth grade (or 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 years of age).

Pack 460 has been serving the Kensington-Parkwood community since 1956. We are part of the Potomac District in the National Capital Area Council (NCAC) of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). We recruit Scouts primarily from the Holy Redeemer and Kensington Parkwood Elementary Schools. Our chartered organization is Holy Redeemer Church in Kensington, MD. Because Scouts, parents, leaders, and organizations work together to achieve the purposes of Cub Scouting, we depend on the volunteer spirit of our community and leaders.

Please visit our "Leaders" or "Contact Us" page if you would like more information...we would be delighted to hear from you.
